Before you arrive

To reduce contact, we ask that you use our self check-in tool before you arrive at the branch. This will allow us to maintain social distancing and will help with the speed of your vehicle pick up. Take the time to check out the rental agreements, watch a safe driving video and enter all driver details pre-arrival.

 

Getting to us

There is no customer parking available inside the grounds of our branches, but there is a wide range of safe, secure, convenient and affordable parking options situated close by. We recommend using Parkopedia to research options. Flying into a branch destination? Our branches are closely situated to our domestic airports, allowing you to easily reach our branches via taxi or public transport. In branch and collecting your vehicle

At our branches around the country, we have put in place a number of measures to maintain social distancing and allow us to effectively contact trace.

  • Contact Tracing – we will ask all visitors that enter our branches to record their name and phone number for contact tracing purposes only.  We also have a record of our staff on-site at any given day and time.  
  • Physically distant, but never far away – we are asking all our customers and branch crew to practice social distancing. Please adhere to signage across the branch, advising our customers of our safety processes. 
  • Crew safety standards – any crew you meet will have the appropriate equipment and training to keep people safe and the thl environment hygienic. If you bring your pets along, we ask that you tie them up outside the branch doors to help us maintain this standard. 
  • Cleaning standards – Our cleaning and hygiene practices are already robust, but we are supplementing them with extra measures based on advice from the World Health Organisation and national health authorities. All our motorhomes receive a thorough deep clean using appropriate disinfectants.
  • Collecting your vehicle – Under level 2 we are unable to deliver the usual vehicle walkthrough. To support you with vehicle familiarization we have compiled a library of ‘how-to’ videos to help you navigate your vehicle. Simply download the ‘thl RoadTrip app’ via the Google Play and Apple App Store. We recommend you watch the videos before arriving at the branch, to speed up self check-in and reduce time in the branch.  

 

On-road care

We have an on-road care team available 24/7 to answer any questions our customers have with motorhome functionality.

Road User Charges

Road user charges (RUC) means that anyone using New Zealand's roads contributes towards their upkeep. Most road users pay levies when they buy fuel. Others, such as motorhomes and trucks pay through road user charges. Road Users charges will be calculated and need to be paid at drop off. Be sure you chat to your Local Host about road user charges, you can buy the Express Return Pack which will include these costs in your drop off.
