Day 1
Christchurch to Kaikōura

Distance 180km - Driving Time 2.5 hours

Pick up your camper in Christchurch and roll north on State Highway 1. The landscape pivots from the Canterbury Plains to coastal cliffs as you near Kaikōura, where the mountains fall straight into the Pacific. Keep an eye out for seabirds overhead and seals basking on the rocks below.
