Take a leisurely drive, through the state's lush farm regions, or stop in the quirky towns and cosmopolitan centres. Head inland to the colourful Lightning Ridge opal fields and fossick for gems or cruise to the Mid North Coast to Port Macquarie and spend some time whale watching. Along the way, you'll be amazed at what you find – fine food and wine trails, lively festivals, Aboriginal heritage tours, amazing landscapes, and friendly locals.
