Visitor Information

Climate:

Due to the size of the State WA has varied climate types. The northern coast has a tropical climate with a wet season (Nov - Mar) with temps 24C - 34C and a dry season (Apr - Oct) with temps circa 30C. The coastal south-west has a mild Mediterranean style climate with hot dry summers (highs 25C) and mild rainy winters (highs 16C). Inland is arid with the majority of rainfall January to March and maximum temperatures of 38C in Jan and 19C in July.

 

What To Pack:

Casual clothing for travelling & activities and smart casual for evening dining is recommended. Make sure you bring comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, insect repellent, towel, swimwear, all-weather coat/jacket and a warm sweater/jacket.

 

Wine and Food:

Home to nine world class wine regions, each with their own unique characteristics and qualities WA is a great destination for anyone who enjoy great wine and food. With access to world renowned Margaret River, and the state’s oldest growing region Swan Valley, you’ll be spoilt for choice - the only problem is trying to fit them all into one trip!

Events:

A real melting pot for events, WA is home to some great annual festival events including film, food and wine and music. For the more outdoorsy, there’s triathlons, motor racing and off road adventure racing to get the endorphins pumping. Australia is full of scenic National Parks; 500 of them in fact! The varying landscapes and native trees throughout the country make every one unique and unforgettable.
